PORCELAIN UNICORN

John C. Crow as Nazi Soldier #2 in "Porcelain Unicorn"

This is a beautiful 3 minute short film!  John, is in it for a second, but it's a very intimidating second.  The film is very heartfelt and I love the title.  It was the Grand Prize Award winner at the 2011 Post-Cannes Phillips Film Festival.  Per DrSAger-IMDb, "the rules for the entrants to the contest were: 1)The film could be no more than three minutes long. 2) It could have only six lines of dialog.  The chief judge, if I'm not mistaken, was Ridley Scott."  Pretty cool, right?

It was written and directed by Keegan Wilcox, Keegan Wilcox-IMDb who produced 9 titles including "The Action Hero's Guide to Saving Lives" with one of my personal hero's, Patrick Warburton.  Keegan was also involved in "Crank", one of my favorite action movies and yes, I own the soundtrack.  His next production is "Hit List" due to be released Nov 2012 Hit List-IMDb

Please check out this beautiful film!

MALCOLM HOLMES!

So I'm walking down the street to go to Wacko here in LA, and I see my friend's son Malcolm starting a chalk drawing on the sidewalk.  I stopped and said hi, "Wow that looks great."  Not really thinking much of it probably totally forgot that somebody told me he was a great artist.  I come back from Wacko and he had gotten further in his drawing and I so could not get over how good he is.  I'm gonna take pictures of much more of his art as soon as possible so I can share.  Thank you so much Malcolm!  Enjoy!

Jonah Butler...funny / interesting / drummer guy

i know my place, but it don't know me.”-Jonah Butler

It's so rare that I run into people who write stuff I like or write the way I like, or who I think are interesting and funny.  Probably because I'm not well read.  One of my favorite writers of all time is a Landscape Supervisor named Doug.  He wrote letters to his customer's about their landscaping issues and why they were so stupid.  But after you read the letter, even though you knew in your head he was putting them down and giving them shit, it sounded like he was in love with them.   It made no sense!  Plus we loved him because it was the years when Farside was real big and a lot of the cartoons were about "Doug.

Is there a point to all of this?  Yes!  This is why I like the stuff Jonah writes.  Very original!   Like his quote above, love it!  Damn I hope he wasn't quoting somebody else.  In any case it sounds like something he would say.

Finding new and more disgusting ways of destroying the undead
"What is it about zombies that's so damn funny? Their stupidity? Their facial expressions? The way they drag themselves across the land, driven by that sad, passionate hankering for human flesh?...

Daisaku Ikeda/Photography/Japan

I practice Nichiren Buddhism and Daisaku Ikeda is my mentor.  Through practicing Buddhism I've had other mentor's as well.  Great music teachers and great, national known, horse trainers.  But Daisaku Ikeda is my life mentor.  Anyways he's also an awesome photographer and I wanted to share some of my favorites.

Jeremy Andrew Barthelemy/Actor/Writer-Los Angeles

Basically, I started bugging him tonight about more stuff to post, so hopefully I'll have more soon.

Jeremy is one of the nicest, liveliest guys I've ever met.  Even though he calls me Debra.  I always feel like people who call me Debra have a secret door into me that even I don't know about, or like I'm being hypnotized or abducted by aliens or that they're just talking to somebody else.  But it's really just because he's seen my credit card.  Anyway, I found out tonight he's writing a play or something.  God I'm lame!  More details to come.
